Prevention of Trafficking in Migrants in the Czech Republic
Since January 2010 Organization for Aid to Refugees has started implementation of a project „Prevention of Trafficking in Migrants in the Czech Republic“ supported by the Czech Ministry of Interior (from the state budget funds in 2010). The aim of the project is to provide legal and psycho-social counseling for foreigners who are vulnerable to trafficking.
„Easy Ride II“ helps unaccompanied minors to start new life
In January 2010 OPU started implementing the project „Easy Ride II“
with the financial support of European
refugee fund and Czech Ministry of Interior, which
builds on the Easy Ride project, implemented last year. The
project´s aim is to prepare UAM’s when transiting from institutional
care to privacy and to secure their successful integration. In the frame
of the project the UAM’s will be methodically prepared for leaving of
Residential Centre for Children – Foreigners. They will be granted by
legal and social counselling, assistance when looking for a suitable
accommodation, work, educational courses, (re)qualification courses,
etc. And thereinafter when leaving Residential Centre they will be
accompanied when negotiating with authorities, they will get financial
support for educational courses, (re)qualification courses and for
furnishing apartments, etc. The project activities will last till
December 2010.
Projekt "Uplatněte se!"
Organizace pro pomoc uprchlíkům realizuje za podpory
Evropského sociálního fondu od března 2010 do ledna 2012 projekt
"Uplatněte se!" Projekt je určen cizincům ze třetích zemí, kteří legálně
pobývají v ČR a žijí či pracují na území Středočeského, Jihočeského,
Jihomoravského a Plzeňského kraje. V projektu nabízíme vybraným zájemcům
možnost bezplatné účasti na kurzech českého jazyka, rekvalifikace,
placené stáže u vybraných zaměstnavatelů. Spolupráce by měla klientům
projektu pomoct zvýšit jejich šance na pracovní uplatnění. V případě, že

Project "New Beginning"
The Organization For Aid to Refugees offers you with the support of European
refugee fund and the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs within the framework of the project New Beginning
following:
- accompanying a refugee to authorities in the place of the refugee’s
residence (labour office, state social support, aid in material
deprivation, schools, physicians, etc.)
- advisory assistance in social and legal matters
- assistance in orienting a refugee in his new place of residence
(orientation in Down, the possibility to find a volunteer)
- the possibility to cover the financial costs of retraining (leading
to finding a job)
- assistance in finding a job
These services are provided to asylum seekers within 6 months of moving
in the integration department based on Alternative I of the State
Integration Programme, or since the signing of a contract within
Alternative II of the State Integration Programme.
The goal of all activities is to help asylum seekers in the beginning of
their living in a new town, so they are able to create social,
economical and cultural nets as soon as possible. We believe that this
support will raise their chances in successful integration on local and
general level.

The project has been realized from 1. 4. 2009 until 31. 12. 2010.

A Project „Assistance for asylum seekers“
Organization for Aid to refugees has been
implementing a new project „Assistance for asylum seekers“ in the
accommodation centre Kostelec nad Orlicí. Project is co financed by the
European Union through European Refugee Fund. The aim of the project is
to improve services provided to the asylum seekers Czech republic has
been receiving. During this project asylum seekers in Kostelec can
prosper from social and legal counselling, including individual
assistance (company of OPU worker to the Czech authorities if needed,
assistance with necessary legal documents). Project also allows
assistance of interpreters surfing the counselling and a offers
possibility of psychological help. In the frame of the project was issued 4th, updated version of an information brochure "Welcome to the Czech Republic. Brochure is available in 4 languages (Czech, Russian, English and French).
